"Improve, Protect, and Preserve the Water Quality in the Sodus Bay Watershed"

Who We Are
About SOS
Save Our Sodus, Inc. is a non-profit environmental organization that is dedicated to improving, protecting, and preserving the water quality in Sodus Bay and its surrounding watershed. Since 1999, we have grown to include over 600 members who include local residents, vacationers, property owners, businesses, farmers, boaters, sportspeople and many others who recognize the importance of preserving the bay's natural beauty and purity.

SOS's board of directors consists of 11 active members in the organization. The board meets monthly from May to November to discuss current issues of concern to Sodus Bay. We publish a newsletter semi-annually, and sponsor several annual events including our Water Chestnut Harvest, Coastal Cleanup, and Dinner Dance Fundraiser.

Save Our Sodus is a young organization that is focused on water-related issues, primarily weed management, in Sodus Bay. We understand that the best way to effectively protect and preserve these waters is locally, through citizen support and community action. By joining together, we can increase public awareness, create a common voice, and reverse nutrient loading in Sodus Bay and its tributaries.
