"Improve, Protect, and Preserve the Water Quality in the Sodus Bay Watershed"

How to Help

Water Chestnuts

  • To help keep them from spreading, pull any water chestnut plants you see out of the water and dispose of them on land.
  • Make sure you thoroughly clean off propellers to prevent the spread of water chestnuts to different areas of the bay.

Write a Letter

  • Our County and Township representatives need to hear from you. Write a letter, make a phone call or speak up at public meetings. Without voices from the public, it is more difficult to make real changes in the way citizens, industry, and our governments treat our watershed. Our watershed is over 46 square miles-including the townships of Sodus, Lyons, Galen, Huron and Rose- consisting of the entire land area from which water flows into Sodus Bay.
